1- Blue Lagoon

2- Jökulsarlon

3-Gullfoss

Gullfoss Waterfall, which forms the Golden Circle, which is Iceland’s most touristic region with Tingviller and Geysir points, becomes the largest waterfall in Europe in summer due to regular rains and melting glaciers. Two thousand cubic meters of water per second flows from this natural wonder located in the southwest of the country.

4. Golden Circle

The Golden Circle is 300 km from Reykjavik. You will need to spare at least 2 days to visit the region, which includes the breathtaking stops of Iceland such as Thingvellir National Park, Strokkur and Geysir, Gullfoss Waterfall, Kerid Crater Lake.

Founded in 2005, the Maritime Museum is an important museum with detailed exhibits showing Iceland’s maritime history from the early settlement periods to the 20th century. 6-Thingvellir National Park

Gerduberg Basalt Rocks, Budir Church, Rauðfeldsgjá Canyon, Arnarstapi Village, Hellnar Village, Djúpalónssandur Beach, Saxholl Crater, Kirkjufell Waterfall and Kirkjufell Mountain are among the main attractions of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula.

9-Eyjafjallajökull

Eyjafjallajökull is Iceland’s famous volcano, which last erupted in 2010 and is estimated to have been active since the ice age. Eyjafjallajökull, which spans an area of 100 km2 and whose southern tip was once part of the island’s Atlantic coastline, has a volcano with a 3-4 km diameter crater. 10-Myvatn

Lake Myvatn is one of the most famous and spectacular places in Iceland due to its frequent volcanic activity. Mývatn Nature Baths is one of Europe’s greatest natural treasures. 11-Skogafoss

12-Solheimasandur Aircraft Wreck

The Solheimasandur Aircraft Wreck is the wreckage of an American military cargo plane that had to make an emergency landing due to icing. Located on Solheimasandur Beach in South Iceland, a pitch-black beach, the wreck has been here since 1973, the year it fell. The contrast of the DC-3 with the black background on a deserted beach started to attract more and more tourists every day, and in time, Solheimasandur beach became one of the most visited spots on the island.

13-Vik town

Vik Town is the only town located at the southernmost point of Iceland. Located at the bottom of Mount Katla, which has erupted many times throughout history, the town has hosted the scenes of the Game Of Thrones series like many other places in the country.

14-The Sun Voyager

It was brought to life by Jon Gunnar Arnason, the architect of the building, which came first in the sculpture competition held to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of Reykwavik.

The building with the theme of freedom resembles a Viking ship. This building, which symbolizes light and hope, is among the most modern structures of the city.

15-Selfoss

Located in the Jökulsárgljúfur canyon in Northern Iceland, the Selfoss waterfall is 1 km south of the huge Dettifoss waterfall. It is fed by the glacial river Jökulsá á Fjöllum with its routes through the Vatnajökull glacier. The Jökulsá á Fjöllum is the second longest river in Iceland with a length of 206 kilometers, emptying into the Greenland Sea.

The glacier that originates from this river is the largest ice cap in Iceland, making up 8 percent of Iceland’s land mass. While the east side of the waterfall offers a magnificent view, it is difficult to see Selfoss clearly from the west as most of the waterfall pours from the west. It is often confused with the town of Selfoss. You can visit this place in any season of the year, but in winter the water flow is reduced.

16-Living Art Museum

The Living Art Museum is one of Reykjavik’s most innovative and contemporary museums. This non-profit museum, run by contemporary artists, is a very important travel destination that has survived to this day with the support of volunteers who are burning with a passion for art.

17-Iceland National Museum

The National Museum of Iceland, founded in 1863, is one of the important museums of the city with a very rich collection of impressive antiques.

On the upper floor of the two-floor museum, collections from the 1600s are exhibited, and a lot of information is given about how Iceland struggled under foreign colonization and how it gained independence.

18-Iceland Phallological Museum

The Phallological Museum, which is quite different from the artistic museums, is one of the most interesting points of the city. One of the oldest fields of science, phallology is a museum where the genitals of mammals are exhibited.

20-Hallgrímskirkja Church
